Sixth meeting: Continue for Lesson 4

On this week class, we are learning how to introduce our family members in Japanese.


This is example of ‘my family’/ わたしのかぞくchart.
Then, we are learning about the conversation in introducing our family member as below:

A         : このは わたしのかぞくです。はちにんです。   “kono wa watashi no kazoku desu. Hachi-nin desu” (This is my family. There is 8 person)

B         : この ひとは だれですか?   “kono hito wa, daredesuka?” (Who is this person?)

A         : あねです。   “ane desu.” (This is my brother)

B         : おいくつですか?   “oikutsu desuka?” (how old is he?)

A         : にじゅうさんさいです。   “nijuusan-sai desu” (he is 23 years old.)

B         : おしごとは?   “oshigoto wa?” (what is his occupation?)

A         : がくぶのがくせいです。   “gakubu no gakusee desu” (he is university student)

B         : どこにすんでいますか?   “doko ni sundeimasuka?” (Where is he living?)

A         : じょほるにすんでいます。  “Johoru ni sundeimasu.” (He lives in Johor)

Vocabulary:

むすこ “musuko” = my son
むすめ “musume” = my daughter
いしゃい “ishai” = doctor
おなじ “onaji” = same
もうなくなりまし “mou nakunari mashi” = deseased
けっこんしています “kekon shite imasu” = married
ちょうなん “choonan” = first boy sibling
じなん “jinan” = second boy sibling
さんなん “sannan” = third boy sibling
ちょおじょ “choojo” = first girl sibling
じじょ “jijo” = second girl sibling
こうくせい “kookusee” = high school student
しょうがくせい “shoogakusee” = primary school student

ちゅうがくせい “chuugakusee” = secondary school student
